This course introduces students to the narrative testimonies of the Russia-Ukraine war, collected by the research team in Canada and Ukraine. The students will be working with these testimonies, exploring them from four scholarly perspectives: history and politics; linguistics and psychology; language and translation; and archives and memory. Students will divide their time between engagement with scholarly perspectives and primary documents, as well as participating in interactive discussions.
